Kick-Off Meeting INVEST Volunteers

Successful collaboration in international grassroot sports. A look at the project and the upcoming Congress Week

At the recent kick-off meeting for volunteers from six nations, Kristina Horákova and Claudiu Roznovszky, together with coordinators Alexandra Hoffmann and Sebastian Immler, welcomed the dedicated volunteers to the project launch. Together, they embarked on an exciting project phase aimed at promoting international exchange and the development of volunteers in grassroot sports.

Each participant introduced themselves briefly: name, age, origin, profession, and personal interests. This created a lively atmosphere of getting to know each other and exchanging ideas.

The project overview was presented by the coordinators. The venue for the congress week, taking place from September 4th to 10th in Niederöblarn, Austria, was introduced. The Sportarea Grimming is easily accessible by public transport from Vienna, Salzburg, and Graz.

The program for the congress week is diverse: experience sharing, workshops on personal and professional development topics such as gender equality, project management, and much more are planned. Additionally, team-building activities, excursions, and leisure activities are on the agenda.

An important aspect is the evaluation of the project, which will be overseen by Mag. Dr. Rosa Diketmüller, monitoring the progress.

A key focus was on input from the volunteers regarding topics they wish to see in the workshops. Participants expressed interests such as volunteer recruitment, project management, sponsorship, marketing, and many others. They also emphasized the importance of experiencing many shared moments, engaging in sports, and taking breaks between workshops to recharge. Leisure activities and vegetarian meals were also suggested.

This project offers a fantastic opportunity to strengthen international networks, acquire new skills, and jointly advance amateur sports. We look forward to an inspiring congress week and a successful collaboration!
